Southern Region Winners at the National NATS Conference

hurley tannerDanielle Watson and Matthew AikenThe Southern Region of NATS is thrilled to announce our two Honorable mention winners at the National Student Auditions that took place in 2022. 

Payton Tanner received an Honorable Mention in the Upper Classical Treble category. Payton is a student of Susan Hurley who is on faculty at Mississippi University for Women.

Matthew Aiken received an Honorable Mention in the Advanced Classical TBB category. Matthew is a student of Danielle Watson, a Teaching Assistant at The University of Southern Mississippi.

About Us

The NATS Southern Region is an entity of The National Association of Teachers of Singing. The region comprises more than 200 voice professionals from the states of Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. 

The region's annual conference is held on the second weekend of November at university campuses located throughout the three states. The event consists of a pre-conference board meeting and dinner; student auditions; recitals and master classes by visiting artists and our own members; and the regional NATSAA competition.
